Miss USA Tara Conner was almost dethroned as it came to light that she went on an underage drinking binge in New York.

However, Donald Trump, who owns the Miss America event, said Conner was “a good person.” and gave her a second chance - which involves a stint in rehab. “Tara got caught up in the whirlwind of New York,” Trump said, adding. “New York City is a fast place.”

Conner seemed, very remorseful blaming her small-town background for her behaviour. She has developed a reputation as a party girl after being spotted dancing and drinking in a string of New York nightclubs and bars.

Now that’s what we expect from a Miss America … well done!
