12-Year Old Charged For Using Urination As A “Weapon”

Friday, January 5th, 2007

Disorderly conduct change have been dropped for a 12-year old special needs student from Danville Middle School in Montour County, Pa., who wet her pants.

During preparation of a holiday lunch, the girl was ordered to the kitchen to do some washing up but refused. When teachers called for Principal Kevin Duckworth, the girl wet her pants. Authorities said she did it deliberately but her mother disagrees.

The girls mother said she was terrified of Duckworth and had wet herself during previous confrontations. However, school officials were said to be at their “wit’s end” with the girl and dispute those claims, saying the girl has assaulted staff and uses urination as a “weapon.” Her mother admits disciplinary problems but says her daughter has never been violent.

“I think to bring a 12-year-old girl into the criminal justice system, when there are better alternatives, it makes better sense to just let the school district handle it with the child and parents,” said District Attorney Robert Buehner.
